AquaMunch AQUARIUM ACADEMY
Feeding aquarium shrimp: leaves, minerals and manageable portions
A shrimp colony benefits from a feeding routine you can observe, with the right food and stable aquarium conditions.
Why leaf ingredients are part of the story.
Shrimp Essentials highlights Indian almond, mulberry and raspberry leaves alongside Japanese kombu kelp. These are recognisable parts of the recipe’s grazing-food character, rather than an unspecified green blend.
Spinach, spirulina, chlorella and other plant ingredients sit alongside Australian salmon, krill, insects and mussel. The complete mix matters more than selecting one leaf as a cure-all.
Put minerals in context.
Kale, moringa and black soldier fly contribute to a recipe with added calcium and minerals. Minerals are part of supporting the exoskeleton and moulting cycle, but successful moulting also depends on suitable water chemistry and care.
More calcium is not automatically the answer to every moulting problem. Check the needs of your shrimp species and the aquarium conditions rather than escalating feeding or supplementation blindly.
Start with the colony you have.
A small colony with other grazing opportunities may need a different amount from a densely stocked breeding aquarium. Begin with a modest gel portion, observe feeding and adjust.
Place food where you can see what remains. Remove leftovers and review your routine if a serving is regularly ignored.
Prepare the gel according to the pack.
Shrimp Essentials is an AquaGel formula. Use its specific mixing and storage directions, allow the gel to cool and set, then offer a suitably small portion.
