AquaMunch AQUARIUM ACADEMY

Feeding for natural fish colour

A colourful aquarium starts with healthy fish and suitable care. Food is one part of that picture.

Colour is not just a feeding result.

Species, genetics, condition, lighting and social behaviour can all influence what you see. In cichlid groups, dominant and less dominant fish may display differently. That is why a before-and-after photograph needs context.

Use comparable lighting and camera settings when tracking changes. Note any changes in tankmates or husbandry rather than attributing every difference to food.

What makes Super Colour distinctive?

Our Super Colour recipe brings Australian salmon and Atlantic krill together with natural rose, astaxanthin, spirulina and vegetables including sweet potato, pumpkin, beetroot, paprika and carrot. It is AquaMunch’s number-one bestseller.

Astaxanthin is a carotenoid used in aquafeeds for pigmentation. Species and formulation determine the result; a named pigment is not a promise that every fish will show the same colour. Feedipedia’s microalgae reference gives background on feed pigments.

Everyone’s a king. Everyone’s a champion.

That line comes from the way we think about the whole group—not just the dominant fish. In our fishroom we have observed brighter, more even colour in suitable groups fed Super Colour.

We present that as our experience. We do not claim the food changes sex, guarantees uniform colour or removes aggression from an aquarium. See the fishroom stories for the distinction.

Build a routine you can observe.

Offer an appropriate amount, watch feeding and body condition, and keep the aquarium’s care routine consistent. More food is not a shortcut to more colour.
